INTESTINES

Traveling through a space that disconnects one from their surroundings, Intestines fully takes on the limits of transformation. There are three main forms within this piece, all connected by a giant tube. While creating this project I made it a point for each space to be vastly different, transitioning into each other through color and shape. The first space being clear, resembling a flat, organically shaped peanut with a short tube that is the entry and a long tube at the other end traveling to the cloud. The cloud is clear with a thick, black section dividing through the middle and another tube leading out, this one being black. This allows for a transition into the space I have labeled the ‘gumdrop’ which is entirely black with a short, black exit tube. The colors play an important role in this piece because with the transition from clear to black, it allows for a type of sensory deprivation like no other. The black spaces are so dark that when traveling through the tubes, it can be hard to find your direction as well as throw one off balance. Altogether, Intestines is a piece that creates spaces completely different from those in our normal world. Allowing one to feel out of touch with reality and more in tune with the questions of our universe and what things can become.
