ABOUT ME
Biography
I am currently a Senior at the University of Delaware studying the Fine Arts. I am fluent in using paints and drawing but have truly advanced my art through digital mediums. By using photography and a drawing tablet, I was able to completely alter photos and add different elements that people find unexplainable.
From there I expanded further into the world of animation. First with simple digital animations and soon going into more complex stop motion films. By taking advantage of my painting and sculpting skills, I am able to bring everything together to create pieces beyond even my imagination.
When I am not painting, animating, or drawing I am still creating pieces with my hands. From sculpting works out of metal, wood, and clay to stitching together fabrics in hopes of creating something out of this world I want to make my viewers question the possibilities of our universe.
Artist Statement
The questions of this universe are never-ending and I wish to bring those theories and
uncertainties to attention through the creation of pieces that transcend a space. By highlighting
the unknown through mixed media stop motion animation, sculpture, and paint, I bring my
imagination to life. I use these mediums to display those desires from another world, the need for
more within our reality. I create works that force upon the questions of the universe; what life
truly consists of as well as what lies beyond.

I create stop motion films which have creatures and imaginary beings defying physics
and known certainties. I do this by using ordinary items and looking for another purpose within
them, such as using torn tissue paper to resemble fire, which can be seen in my film Everything’s
Fine. I use wire to create armatures and sculpt clay around them to cultivate the identity of the
characters which then star in my films. I used the clay to create other elements of my films, for
example, I made neon green worms which tore apart the aluminum foil spaceship, leading them
to crashland on an unknown planet. For this, I had to create a miniature planet that looks like it is
being viewed from inside the spaceship. In my film, Stewie’s Adventure in the life beyond, I used
cotton to imitate clouds portraying a divine-like environment. For my current film’s setting, I
use foam and aluminum foil to create a base which then is covered in paper mache. After being
painted, this creates the mountain range in which my film is set. To resemble grass, I cut out
pieces of thick green turf and am using a mixture of salt and glue on top to resemble snow.
For my sculptures my goal is to create objects that transcend a space. I created a UFO
with sheet metal, cutting out multiple pieces and riveting them together to create a shell. Then,
using a heavy duty plastic I created the beam in which the UFO sits, constructing the perception
of an object from beyond the world simply resting in space. I have also used plastic to create
inflatables. These are large scale, abstract objects in which one walks through to be consumed
and enlightened by the drastic change in surroundings and physical space . Each section is heat
sealed together to ultimately form a seriously abstracted room. These spaces seem small from the
outside but once entered, they are drastically more open and inviting.
My paintings are detailed creations of the unimaginable conveyed through a realistic
style. I enjoy using different techniques such as underpainting, impasto, and dry brushing.
Together, these allow me to create an image like no other, involving high detail as well as vivid
colors and a wide range of depth. Underpainting my canvas with contrasting colors allows the
paint on top to stand out more as the canvas below will be showing hints of the opposing color.
To bring my subjects forward, I either surround them with thick, gestural paint; or have the
subjects themselves be made up of the thickly applied paint.
I create spaces and scenes that invite others to think beyond our universe as well as
ponder into the depth of individual imagination. Through painting, sculpture, and stop motion
animation I am able to enhance my work and fully dive into the conceptualization of reality . By
creating these otherworldly beings, scenes, and spaces I display my thoughts about life involving
concepts that are beyond human perception.
